Fort Worth Chapter

The Fort Worth Chapter is a growing chapter with membership ranging in their twenties through seventies. The Fort Worth Chapter fosters a spirit of independence, encourages personal and professional growth to “Live the life you want” among its members and community.  The chapter attends local health fairs and events to distribute literature and provide information about blindness to its community.  Members participate in White Cane Safety Day committee and activities, advocate for issues locally, state wide, and nationally, and hosts events to showcase the NFB Newsline service.  In addition, the members reach out to other organizations to learn about their services while sharing NFB information in order to strengthen the chapter’s community and reach people who are blind.  The chapter gives back to its membership by providing scholarships to members interested in attending state and national conventions. The Fort Worth Chapter supports outreach programs within the community, including current efforts to connect with the local colleges, schools, people who work with visually impaired children, and parents of children who are blind while supporting NFB programs.
