The Rio Grande Valley Chapter of the National Federation of the Blind of Texas connects blind South Texans and visitors from Matamoros and Reynosa, Mexico and holds itt’s meetings in Spanish with English interpretation services as needed.
We are a community of blind and visually impaired individuals whose goal is to support and encourage one another in an effort to achieve independence and live the lives we want by promoting outreach, education and community
service programs.
We offer introductory workshops throughout the year related to Braille literacy, Adaptive technology, travel, independent living skills as well as,access to local resources and information. Guest speakers are invited periodically to speak on topics related to blindness.
Our membership also includes Blind children, People who are losing their vision, Parents of blind children, Blind Parents, Students, Seniors and Educators.

The Chapter meets every 3rd Saturday of the month from 11am-3pm, unless notified otherwise.
The meeting location is to be announced. Although, we strongly encourage your presence at the meetings, we continue to hold the meetings online thru Zoom. Please contact us at 956-320-8090 for further information.
The general meeting is held from 11am-1pm and from 1pm-3pm, the chapter also holds different workshops as well as arts and crafts.
